Learning by Doing is excellent; today at work I learnt about twenty things about website fiddling and coding by being thrown in at the deep end, finished a marketing video and started reading Tank Girl: Armadillo. I’m only.. let me check.. seven pages of preface/story in (I spent all my breaks doing extra learnin’! I have all these ideas I need to be able to include!) but I have laughed and YEUHH’d and thought “Hmm, I might wear that”. I won’t say more! Let’s keep the spoilers for the SPOILERS post!

Gonna have a quiet evening of horror illustration, working on a logo for my beloved, and having another strike at Rachel’s tattoo. And watching Martial Law.

Unrelated tangent: I decided to start buying summery-appropriate clothes. So I have something to wear when it isn’t chilly chilly.. I’m just so picky. So far I have my eye on a Jane Marple (of course) skirt and Gogol Bordello ‘track shorts’, and I cut the arms off my too-big and previously unflattering Misfits pumpkin tee.. Anyone got any suggestions?? I like layers and structure! So not summer-ideal!

Trying out this new, extra comments format since people’ve mentioned they’ve had trouble with the built-in form.. :O

Click the above picture for the warmthblog entry! Just a small tip, but a good’un all the same.

I found this badge earlier whilst I was looking for some nails. It is just about perfect:

Combining good girls who will be fine if through no fault of their own they find themselves lost in a wood, with post-apocalyptica and comics. Or, combining me with me. Marvelous.

Though that makes it sound a chore, doesn’t it? :O!

Christmas party!

It’s virtual, which makes things easier. You’re invited, if you live here too. There are prizes..

..Which I’m not allowed to win, because I’m contributing one of them. This one, actually.

Doesn’t that make you want to join more?? OF COURSE.

Here’s my attendance attire, anyhow:

I chose this outfit because, well, I like it. I like winter textures, and softness, and sparkles. I like dark colours and clothes that cling warmly and that keep out the cold. I like feeling like if I fell into a fairytale, I would be dressed for it. I like clothes that have history, which these do: the hat had a previous life in Russia, the dress had a previous life in America and before that in Japan (Brand: Victorian Maiden. Though I altered it). The long-sleeve shirt could have been anywhere, that is yet another draw to Charity shopping for me. I like deep reds, and blacks that don’t look harsh. I like not clashing with the colours of nature.

The song, obviously, is one of those “Christmas songs” (though not mentioning the WORD), but is sung by Joan Jett. And that makes it hugely better (though this version has a child playing drums and some talking over it, for some reason). The soup and the honey’d lime are just tasty! And easy to homemake!

Happy Winter, everyone. To my countryfolk and others.

Please join in!

If y’all will kindly look over to the left (or down), you can see the brand new Logo-patch for the BSB (a conglomerate of sorts of.. well. I think you can guess). Which is news partly because it’s news, new stuff and all, and PARTLY because I made it. Hurray for me! Har har. No really, hurray for me.

It was drawn and coloured in GIMP, which is a free graphics program and which I am still reeeeally not used to using. And I am so out of practice with my graphics tablet.. I went NUTS over this thing. But I think it came out pretty well! And it was enthusiastically received by Amy (the boss of things over there).

Visit! We’re a swell bunch.
